Average natural milk purchase price in Lithuania in February, 2015

Average natural milk purchase price in February, 2015 was 222,3 Eur/t. During February, 2015 comparing with January, 2015 average natural milk purchase price decreased by 3,0 % (in January, 2015 it was 229 Eur/t).

During February, 2015 natural milk purchase price was 40 % lower, compared to the same period in 2014 (in February, 2014 the price was 370 Eur/t). During February, 2015 were bought 91.05 thousand tons of milk – 2.3 % more compared with February, 2014.

Dairy producers, who sell more than 40 tons of milk per month (more than 1.3 tons per day), in January, 2015 for natural milk were paid the average of 269,4 Eur/t by the largest Lithuanian dairy companies (premiums and deductions not included). This price is higher by 18 % than the average of natural milk purchase price.

Comparing the natural milk purchase price, paid to milk producers who sell more than 40 tons per month, in February, 2015 with January, 2015, the price decreased by 2.1 % and compared with February, 2014 – it was lower by 38 %.

Dairy producers, who sell more than 40 tons of milk per month (more than 1.3 tons per day), in February, 2015 for natural milk were paid the average of 264 Eur/t by the largest Lithuanian dairy companies (premiums and deductions not included). This price is higher by 18.6 % than the average of natural milk purchase price.

It should be marked that the milk, purchased from producers who supply more than 40 tons of milk per month, on average accounted for 45 % of total quantity of milk purchased by companies.
